Nothing gets between you and your doctor.
SwiftMD was created to connect patients with doctors quickly and easily. Nothing interferes with the care you need—not an appointment calendar, not time of day, not your insurance, not even a drive across town. You just pick up the phone and call. Here’s how it works.
You have a medical need:
Maybe you need advice, have an injury or feel sick. Maybe it’s for you or your child. The point is you know you need a doctor.
You pick up the phone or log onto mySwiftMD.com:
When you make an appointment by phone or Internet, you will answer a few simple questions about your condition to ensure a telemedicine consultation is the right medical choice for you. This step is for your safety. We want to be sure your condition isn’t an emergency. If it is, we send you to the nearest appropriate provider, whether that’s a doctor or your nearest hospital Emergency Department.
An emergency-trained physician calls you back ASAP:
Our physicians frequently call members back usually within 30 minutes. At that point, your consultation begins. The physician has your health record at hand. The consultation is very similar to one that you’d have sitting in a doctor’s office.
The physician asks you about symptoms, pain and other issues. It can be helpful to know your temperature, pulse rate and blood pressure (inexpensive tools for getting this information are available at most drug stores). Our members can also send visual information to the physician. One of the most popular methods is to photograph an injury or rash with your cell phone and send it to your doctor.
You are provided with a course of treatment:
Our physicians can prescribe medications, order tests, make referrals and more. If prescriptions or tests are required, we facilitate everything right down to calling in the prescription to a pharmacy near you.
Your Personal Health Record is updated:
During your consultation, your physician enters notes into your electronic medical record. These include the diagnosis and treatment. Once the consultation has been concluded, this information is posted to your record and is available for your review, along with prescriptions and test results.
Your receive confirmation of charges:
Your account is automatically charged for all services according to your plan. If you have an employer-sponsored plan, you will only be charged for copays and services not covered by your employer. Medical costs charged to your account, including consultations, medications and tests, may be paid with funds from a qualified medical savings account. Fees may also be covered in part or in total by insurance, depending on your plan.
